Tang Soo Do
Webster Martial Arts Academies are top tier Martial Arts schools in northern Alabama that teach an extremely well rounded curriculum that has taken years to mature. Jimmy Webster started the school in Decatur in 1973 as a traditional Tang Soo Do school which he handed over to his son Jamie Webster in the 90s. Jamie has spent the last 30+ years of his life honing his craft and meticulously improving and categorizing his curriculum. Both the Decatur and Madison schools use the same curriculum, key concepts, branding, revenue generators, etc. It has been a long time goal to open a sister school in the Huntsville area. John Stallions (Principal Owner), Blake Stewart (Co-Owner), Pat Underwood (Head Instructor) are long time students of Jimmy and Jamie and were able to help in that goal and bring the Martial Arts experience that has had such a positive influence on their lives to the citizens of Madison.
Webster’s Martial of Arts of Madison wants to be YOUR CHOICE for martial arts during these unprecedented times. We are working hard to keep you safe in our studio. Plus we’ve got some exciting news about an online membership and streaming classes, should you choose to further your martial arts education at home during the pandemic.
Here are some examples of our in-studio protocol.
During class, students have plenty of room to space out by lining up on every other mark, ensuring a 6 foot social distancing radius.
There is no person-to-person contact in class. For example, we are working on individual techniques and forms for sparring, grappling, and self-defense in our individual 6 foot spaces right now. Later, when it is safe, we will resume practicing these techniques with person-to-person contact, implementing what we learned while social distancing.
Instructors will offer detailed verbal corrections instead of coming in close personal contact with students. You’ll still receive the same amazing martial arts instruction for which Webster’s is known, but from a safe distance.
Visitors should not congregate in the studio or lobby. If you’d like to watch, you can do so safely from our large outdoor windows and tune into FM channel 100.1 on your radio to listen in on your student’s class.
All of our employees are wearing masks when interacting with anyone in the studio.
No shared equipment is used unless it is sanitized between use using an alcohol-based cleaner and/or a UVC germicidal lamp following proper CDC protocol.
Any equipment that is owned by the studio and used by the student is sanitized between uses using an alcohol-based cleaner and/or a UVC germicidal lamp following proper CDC protocol.
Mats and other surfaces in the studio are sanitized between each class with KenClean Plus (a US EPA certified cleaner approved for COVID-19).
